John Thomas Angell

John Thomas Angell (aged 28)

John Thomas and his two brothers, William and Alexander, were known as Angell Bros. They were tank sinkers on Yandama Stn. Yandama was a huge property, extending from the Tibooburra common westward to the South Australian border and from Cameron’s corner to Quinyambie in the south.

John married Sarah Blanche Williams and they had 5 children.
The girls were Christina Mavis, Dulcie Laura and Joan Elizabeth. From what I can establish they had two sons, Henry who died in 1911 and John A who died in 1922, both at Tibooburra.

Sarah Blanche Angell died at Tibooburra on 4th April 1945 at age 52.

John later married Florence Grace a half sister to Sarah Blanche and formerly married to Edward Illies.

The photograph above shows John Angell holding a team of horses hitched to the mail coach in Tibooburra.
Grandma Angell (Jessie Louise Kuerschner) is seated next to the driver.

Dulcie Laura Angell

My Grandmother was Dulcie Laura Angell, daughter of John and Sarah Angell.

Dulcie married Thomas Gaiter in Tibooburra I believe.

The Gaiter family have owned Packsaddle Stn since the 50's.

I think Thomas and Dulcie onced owned the 2 storey hotel in Tibooburra before they got Packsaddle.

They had 4 kids........Graham Thomas, Murray, Gary Gavin and Barbara Ann. Gary is known as Gavin and is still on Packsaddle.

I believe Dulcie worked as a housekeeper for the Conrick family on Nappa Merri Stn.............home of the dig tree......... another Burke and Wills connection.
