William Angell married Mary Ann Ford on 12.2.1827 and she died in 1840 they had six children.

The following three descendants were born during Williams second marriage to Rachel Hawkins sister of Mary Ann Ford

Note: William Angells second wife was Rachel Hawkins (sister of Mary). Although I have no details of their possible deaths, It is most likely that William, Rachel and Ruth died leaving Henry an orphan and that he was taken to Australia by John and Mary who would have been his aunt and uncle.

The Australian Connection

My Great Great Grandparents were John Angell and Mary Hawkins.

John and Mary Angell arrived in S.A. from Wiltshire in 1849 on the "Duke of Wellington" with a three year old child Henry. Henry was a half brother to John as well as his nephew.
Henry was born 8.9.1846 in Calne Wiltshire (UK) and raised by John and Mary as their own son.
Mary died 21.5.1896 at Unley aged 63
John died 14.4.1904 at Unley aged 73

John Angell and Mary Hawkins married at 'The Parish Church of Calne' and had the following children:

2: John William born 1849 in UNLEY, SA - Died 1929 Tibooburra (Our Great Grandfather)
3: George born 1853 in UNLEY, SA
4: Charles born 1855 in UNLEY, SA (It appears that Charles only used one *L* in the spelling of Angel)
5: Mary Ann born 1858 at UNLEY, SA
6: Elizabeth born 1867 presumably at UNLEY, SA.

John Angell married Christina Middleton and they had the following children:
